In Case You Missed It - Last Week
Last week was, in a word - incredible.
By now, you hopefully have heard the exhilarating news that our Lancer Volleyball team has triumphantly brought home their second consecutive state championship! This remarkable achievement is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and teamwork throughout the season. Their journey to the championship title began bright and early on a Friday morning, filled with anticipation and excitement. The Lancers faced off against the formidable Barron Golden Bears, a match that proved to be a thrilling contest. With impressive skill and determination, the Lancers swiftly defeated the Bears in three sets, clinching victory with scores of 25-22, 25-20, and 27-25. Each set showcased the Lancers' exceptional teamwork and strategic play, setting the tone for their championship aspirations.

Following their decisive win against Barron, the Lancers advanced to the championship match, where they would go head-to-head with their rivals from Watertown Luther Prep, another strong contender from Wels High School. The championship match was a nail-biter, filled with intense moments and electrifying rallies. The Lancers displayed remarkable resilience and focus, ultimately securing the gold ball by winning in four sets with scores of 25-20, 24-26, 25-23, and 25-21. Each set was a testament to their skill and determination, with the team pushing through challenges and maintaining their composure under pressure.
What more can be said about this extraordinary group of athletes that has not already been expressed? Their journey has been one filled with hard-fought battles, unwavering support from their coaches, and a passionate fan base that has rallied behind them. We are incredibly proud of this talented group and the incredible accomplishments they have achieved together as a cohesive team. They have not only excelled on the court but have also created lasting memories for countless Lancer fans, both young and old, who have cheered for them throughout the season. The spirit of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and dedication displayed by the Lancers will undoubtedly resonate within our community for years to come. Their legacy as champions is not just about the trophies they have earned, but also about the inspiration they provide to future generations of athletes.

Empowering Students to Recognize and Respond to Unhealthy Relationships

We recently welcomed Lori Kinsley, Director of RISE—a Kingdom Workers program dedicated to educating and supporting victims of domestic abuse. Lori spoke to our Freshmen and Juniors about identifying unhealthy behaviors in dating relationships and understanding the steps necessary to ensure safety and healing. Her compassionate and informative presentation equipped students with tools to recognize warning signs, seek help, and support others who may be struggling. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with RISE in fostering a safe and respectful environment for all.

The Lakeshore Lutheran Chorale, made up of confirmed members from the Federation of WELS churches, has been sharing God’s Word through music for over fifty years. Rehearsals have traditionally been held at Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
After taking a two-year break, we are now seeking interested individuals who would like to help bring this cherished group back together. If you enjoy singing and would like to be part of this ministry, we warmly invite you to join us!
God willing, we are planning for a spring season of rehearsals and a concert in 2026. If you are interested, please contact Mike Mleziva at mikemlez@hotmail.com or Ryan Friske at friskerj@gmail.com by December 1, 2025.
Boys’ Soccer Proposal: Postponed Pending Enrollment Growth
Toward the end of the 2024–2025 school year, the administration asked our Athletic Director to research the possibility of adding boys’ soccer to our athletic offerings. Information was collected from WELS feeder schools, as well as football, soccer, and cross-country coaches from various high schools and athletic directors from the Big East Conference.
The information gathered was organized and presented to the Student Staff Services Committee (SSSC). After two months of review and follow-up questions, the SSSC forwarded the information to the Board of Control. The Board of Control reviewed the information and recommendations it was given.
At each stage of the review process, the recommendation remained consistent: to postpone adding boys’ soccer until enrollment grows enough to support three boys’ sports in the fall season. When the school’s enrollment reaches approximately 350 students, this topic will be revisited and studied again.
Thanks to everyone for their thoughts, ideas and support as we studied this.
Time to Sign Up for Jr. Lancer Youth Wrestling!

Junior Lancer Wrestling is back—and ready to deliver a high-energy, fun-filled season for young athletes in grades K–8! Each week, boys and girls from Lakeshore Lutheran Schools and federation congregations will learn new techniques that build strength, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the sport. Our goal is to foster a love for wrestling in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment—while preparing athletes for success on and off the mat.
