Club: Shining Through Christ

Leaders: Mr. Nathan Meitner & Mr. Jason Schultz

Grade Levels: 9-12

Total Membership: 123 students

Shining Through Christ is a growing group of students here at Manitowoc Lutheran that serves our school, our churches, and our community. These students want to let their light shine out of thanks for what Jesus has done, and they seek to serve the Lakeshore area in various ways so that they might bring glory to Him! Some of the events that Shining Through Christ hosts include our annual free Veteran's Breakfast and Worship service, this year on

Tuesday, November 11, 2025. REGISTER

Shining Through Christ also hosts Friendship Sunday activities here at MLHS for the special needs individuals in the community, as well as having a large hand in hosting Night to Shine here in February. Throughout the year there are several opportunities for our students to volunteer, this past weekend was one of those chances.

On Saturday morning (October 4th), 17 students part of Shining Through Christ spent some time volunteering at Peter's Pantry in Manitowoc! The group separated several pallets of frozen food, cleaned shelves & display cases, got a tour of the pantry, and learned about all of the incredible work that this food bank does for our community. It was a great morning! A number of the students even stayed an extra half hour finish a few more tasks. We thank Peter's Pantry for continually giving our students the opportunity to serve there, and we look forward to coming back again in the future!

For information or questions regarding Shining Through Christ please contact one of the club supervisor Mr. Nathan Meitner or Mr. Jason Schultz

Celebrate Donor Advised Fund Day – October 9, 2025!

Also known as #DAFday, this national celebration highlights the power of Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)—a simple, flexible, and tax-smart way to support nonprofits like Manitowoc Lutheran High School.

A DAF is a tax-advantaged charitable giving account. You can contribute cash, securities, or illiquid assets, receive an immediate tax deduction, invest the balance tax-free, and make grants to nonprofits over time. Whether you're an individual, couple, family, or company, you can open a DAF at one of 1,150+ providers across the country.

Because MLHS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, you can direct your DAF gifts to support Christian education and student programs anytime. DAFs help donors give bigger thanks to tax savings and added accountability—resulting in more dollars for impact. And DAFs work for every budget: in fact, 69% of DAF gifts are under $1,000!

Night with the Lancers: A Celebration of Community & Team Spirit!

ree

Night with the Lancers — a special evening where grade school students received free admission to both the Lancer football and volleyball games!

At the football game, young fans were gifted mini Lancer footballs to collect autographs from their favorite players — a keepsake they'll treasure for years to come. 🏐Volleyball fans received team photos to get signed by the varsity squad, creating a fun and personal connection with the athletes.

This events aren't just about the games — they are about building community, fostering school spirit, and creating lasting bonds between our grade school students and high school athletes. The energy was electric, the smiles were everywhere, and the Lancer pride was stronger than ever.
