Junior Lancer Athletics

Junior Lancer Baseball


Do you want your child to learn the importance of being team player, increase their health and coordination, as well as give you a break this summer? Don't hesitate! Sign them up for JL Baseball! No previous experience is needed, just an enthusiastic spirit. Junior Lancer Baseball is open to boys that are currently enrolled in 7th or 8th grade. Commitment: Baseball practices are slated to begin early May, twice a week. Games will begin mid May with the league tournament potentially in the middle of July. Games are typically on Mondays and Wednesdays. The cost for the full season is $125. Click here to register! When you register for a sport, you will have to verify that you have read and signed all three documents.




Junior Lancer Basketball


January-April The Jr. Lancer Basketball boys' and girls' programs are designed to be spring tournament teams. The programs are open to any student of the MLHS Federation in grades 5-8, and are intended to provide a smooth transition from grade school basketball to MLHS basketball, while building relationships with future classmates. The 2021-22 Registration is NOW open! All Jr. Lancer Athletes and Parents must read the following material and will be asked to check off that you understand and agree with each item when registering: Junior Lancer Agreement and Release/Waiver (must read)

Girls Jr. Lancer Basketball Information
Will be meeting on Sundays. Games will be at MLHS with games starting between Noon-6. Practices will be at a grade school in the afternoon/evenings. (There is a possibility to add additional practices)
Jan 23- 5-6th games/ 7th-8th practice
Jan 30- 7-8th games/5-6th practice
Feb 6- 5-6th games/ 7th-8th practice
Feb 13- 7-8th games/5-6th practice
Feb 20- 5-6th games/ 7th-8th practice
Feb 27- 7-8th games/5-6th practice

Each team will play in 2, maybe 3 tournaments in March/early April.

Boys Jr. Lancer Basketball Information
Will be meeting on weekends, with games on Saturdays and practices on Sundays. (There is a possibility to add additional practices)

Junior Lancer Cross Country


June - October

Manitowoc Lutheran will be sponsoring a Jr. Lancer Cross Country program this summer and next fall. This program is open to boys and girls that will be in grades 5-8 next fall. Mr. Joel Putz will be the coach, in conjunction with the MLHS coaching staff. He teaches 2nd grade at Immanuel and is an avid runner himself. There will be a $30 fee which will cover a team jersey, (yours to keep after the season) summer training sessions, fall practices, and about 5 or 6 meets. It is theoretically possible to do both Jr. Lancer Cross Country and Football, but there will be conflicts between practices and games.For more information please contactTom Dewane.




Junior Lancer Football


August-October The Jr. Lancer Football team is comprised of grades 4-6, and practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays with Friday games that take place before Lancer home football games.




Junior Lancer Wrestling


January - March Jr. Lancer Wrestling instruction is geared to the age of the students. Beginning wrestlers are presented with the foundation skills required. New skills are introduced each week of the Club. The emphasis is placed on step-by-step mastery of each move and understanding the principles involved, in order to make the wrestler successful in competition. Click here to register! Junior Lancer Band


Jr. Lancer Band provides individual lessons, along with performance opportunities, to students in grades 5-8 of our Federation grade schools and congregations. The Junior Lancer Band Program is comprised of two groups:

  • Beginner Band
  • Concert Winds (with the option of also playing in Jazz Kidz.)

Junior Lancer Youth Choir


Registration opens in September
The cost is $20/Semester. When registering be sure to pick the correct registration.

Your options will be:
Junior Lancer Youth Choir-September-December=$20
Junior Lancer Youth Choir-January-May=$20
Junior Lancer Youth Choir-BOTH SEMESTERS (all year)=$40

If you decide to do the first semester only and later decide to do second semester, you can add that on at a later time by coming back here to register.
