Ottawa Mission Trip

Manitowoc Lutheran High School has teamed up with St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ottawa, ON, Canada to spread Easter joy with in a city facing a dramatic decrease in Christianity.  This mission opportunity supports our WELS members across the world, who can be strengthened by fellowship and Christian humility.

Up to 12 MLHS students are allowed to participate in this experience. Priority will go to upper classmen.

Students will have to cover the cost of their meals and souvenirs. The total cost per student, excluding souvenirs, is $200 USD.

The trip will take place from Wednesday, April 24th after school to Friday, May 2nd.

MLHS students will live with host families affiliated with St. Paul Lutheran Church during their time in Ottawa. These families are will go through background checks to make sure they are well-suited to host our students.

Permission & Commitment Form

Why must you be WELS affiliated?

The purpose of the International Mission Trip is to support a WELS church we are in fellowship with. This will involve participating in Easter services, leading student activities, directing people into the church, ushering for services, and participating in communion. Given the nature of some of these aspects of the mission trip, non-WELS students may be asked not to participate in specific parts of service on the trip. This is in no way a speculation of anyone’s faith but is meant to preserve the doctrinal practices of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
