Manitowoc Lutheran High School offers a university-preparatory program of education for grades 9-12 that has a reputation for being an excellent value in a friendly and safe environment. While maintaining high academic standards, MLHS supports its students through a full time international student coordinator, an international advisor, and an English-as-Second-Language (ESL) program to assist the needs of international students.

Over the years, Manitowoc Lutheran High School has hosted international students from countries including most recently China, France, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain, and Thailand.


Application Process
We are excited that you are applying to Manitowoc Lutheran High School!
While attending MLHS, international students live with host families in Manitowoc County. The families have been interviewed and approved by MLHS representatives. They are excited to welcome a student into their home and learn about other cultures!
Admission to Manitowoc Lutheran Grades 9 -12 is selective. Not all applicants who meet the admissions standards will be admitted. For consideration, applications must be completed thoroughly and accurately.

1. Fill Out Application

2. Recommendations
Provide recommendations from a Headmaster and an English teacher to aid our admissions and placement decisions.
3. Official Transcripts
Request an official school transcript of your courses, credits, and grades from the past three (3) years. This is very important to our review process. Please request a copy (in English) to add to your application or have it translated by a certified translation company. Release of Transcripts & Records Form
4. English Testing
Email results of any English Proficiency test (TOEFL Junior, TOEFL, iTEP, IELTS, SLEP, ELTiS, SSAT) to Mr. Nathan King at nking@mlhslancers.org. (An English test helps place a student in the correct ESL courses and provides an indication that the student will have the ability to succeed in the grade he/she is entering. Testing is required for all International students.)
5. Passport
Email a copy of your passport to Mr. Nathan King at nking@mlhslancers.org
6. Proof of Ability to Pay
Email a copy of a Bank Statement to Mr. Nathan King at nking@mlhslancers.org. (The bank statement shows the parents’ ability to pay for the first year of a student's education at Manitowoc Lutheran. You will need this information in order to obtain a visa.)
7. Submit Application Fee
Submit a US $200 non-refundable application fee by Flywire.
