In case you missed the Express last week, there is plenty of exciting news to share.


Mr. Jason Schultz (below), has accepted our call to serve in the Theology department. We praise God for this, as we have been calling for this position for several years.


Miss Abbie Bosin (above) is currently holding a call to Lakeside Lutheran High School, in Lake Mills, WI to teach Spanish. Please keep Abbie in your prayers as she deliberates. 


Mr. Nathan Gurgel (above) announced that he has returned the call to serve Sola Fide in Georgia. We praise God for Nathan remaining with us next year!


Mr. Mark Hesse, who was called to serve in our English department has returned our call to serve. Please keep the ministry of MLHS in your prayers as we look to fill the current vacancy in the English department. 



 

BIG EAST CONFERENCE ART SHOW

We are blessed to have seven Lancers representing MLHS at the Big East Conference Art Show at the Rahr West Art Museum on April 6 @ 10:00 am - April 14 @ 4:00 pm.

FINE ARTS TRIP TO NASHVILLE- A SUCCESS!


This year seventy students and ten adults traveled to Nashville for the fine arts trip. This special trip will be highlighted in one of our upcoming student produced Lancer Link videos! Here is a little sneak-peek at some of the fun from the trip.



 



WPCP (Wisconsin Parental Choice Program) NOW OPEN

UPCOMING TESTING AT MLHS

PreACT Secure & WI Forward Exam- April 17th

All freshmen & sophomores will be taking the PreACT Secure on Wednesday, April 17th. Freshman may leave after the PreACT Secure test is complete. Please make arrangements to pick up your child at 11:45am from the commons. There are no other classes in the afternoon on April 17th. This is a virtual day for juniors and seniors.

Sophomores will take the WI Forward Exam for social studies after they complete the PreACT Secure. There will be a short lunch break in between. A “grab and go” hot lunch will be provided for anyone wanting to take hot lunch. All other sophomores should bring a cold lunch.

The WI Forward Exam for social studies is self-paced for each student. Sophomores are able to leave after their WI Forward Exam is completed. The average time for taking this exam is 70 minutes.

PreACT Secure Important Information:

  • · All students must arrive before 7:54am. We will begin testing at 7:54am.

  • · Freshmen will finish testing at approx. 11:45am and may go home after testing is completed.

  • · Please make arrangements to pick up your child at 11:45am from the Commons.

  • · Bring a snack to eat during break.

The PreACT Secure is an online test. Each student will need to bring their laptop (completely charged) for this test. The test breakdown is as follows:

English 35 minutes

Math 45 minutes

Break 10 minutes

Reading 40 minutes

Science 35 minutes

WI Forward Exam (Sophomores Only)--- HEADPHONES!

Sophomores will stay to take the WI Forward Exam for social studies after they complete the PreACT Secure. This test is self-paced. The average time for the taking this test is 70 minutes. Sophomores may be picked up from the commons sometime between 12:30 and 1:10 depending on how long the test takes them to complete.

What to bring for both the PreACT Secure & WI Forward Exams:

  • Your FULLY CHARGED SCHOOL LAPTOP. (CANNOT BE A PERSONAL DEVICE)

  • Snack and water bottle

  • Calculator

  • Pencils

  • HEADPHONES- Sophomores only


What not to bring:

  • No cell phones, smart watches or other electronic devices are allowed.

  • No other books or materials are allowed during testing.

It is important that you have your laptop fully charged prior to this test. Please contact Mr. Marohn (cmarohn@mlhslancers.org) if you have any questions.

BREAKFAST ON THE FARM 2024 - PART OF THE LANCER FAMILY

This year the Breakfast on the Farm is being hosted at Libertyland Farms, Inc. Rachel Kenneke (Gries) graduated from MLHS in 2015, and Jenna Gries graduated from MLHS in 2022. 

Activities include: Breakfast, farm tours, and family activities at Libertyland Farms, Inc. on Sunday, June 9, 2024 from 8 am - noon.

WRESTLING ROOM CLOSED



The wrestling room located in the basement of MLHS will be closed until further notice. Our Construction Trades (VOC1017) course is hard at work to remove and rebuild the damaged wall.  This will be a great opportunity for our students to learn how safely and properly demo and build a new stud wall. Thanks to Mr. Phil Stuebs and his class for taking on this project!

Part-time Afternoon Preschool Assistant Position Available: Jesus‘ Lambs of Grace (2426 N. Rapids Rd., Manitowoc) is looking for one or more people willing and able to assist with the care of children during the afternoon hours of 1:00-5:30pm Monday through Friday. This shift could be split if we have more than one person interested. If you, or someone you know, over the age of 18, loves working with kids, has one or more afternoons available, and would like a flexible part-time job, please contact the preschool at 920-482-0001 and ask for Peg Janke.


St. John Maribel Loving Arms Hiring

Loving Arms CCDC is adding to our family! Would you enjoy playing like a kid again while sharing the joy of Christ with toddlers and being a part of their development? Do you know someone who would?
