On Tuesday the boys held a 1 point margin at halftime and were able to hang on for the 59-57 win against the Eagles, who are in 2nd place in the Big East South. The Lancers got 17 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists from senior August Hecker. Fellow senior Ethan Menges tallied 16 points and 14 rebounds, while junior Aidan Franzen chipped in 14 points. Senior Sho Fukasawa helped the offensive attack with 7 assists. Hecker and Franzen helped seal the win by combining to go 10-11 at the free throw line.

On Friday night the Lancers hit the road again, traveling to Elkhart Lake, and came away with a 57-50 victory. With a rough first half of shooting, Fukasawa kept us close with a run of 6 points at the end of the first half to keep the margin at 20-25. The boys went 9-9 at the free throw line to help seal the victory. This victory propelled the boys into 4th place in the Big East North standings. Franzen led the way with 15 points, followed by Fukasawa with 13 points and 5 assists. Hecker contributed 12 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals.

In JV action, JV1 went 2-1 this past week, losing to Roncalli, but defeating Sheb. Christian and ELG. JV2 lost to Roncalli and notched a win against Cedar Grove-Belgium.

The Lancers (10-10) (7-8 Big East North) have two contests this week. On Tuesday the boys travel to St. Mary Catholic (currently 3rd in the Big East North at 10-6, 13-8 overall). A victory in this game may help to advance the boys' standings for regionals since the brackets will be released this coming Sunday. We faced the Zephyrs back in December and lost 81-74. JV2 and JV1 are scheduled to start at 5:50pm with varsity to follow at 7:15pm.

Then on Friday night we welcome the boys back home as they host the Wolves from Hilbert (1-20, 1-15 Big East). JV2 takes on Oostburg at 4:30pm, JV1 plays Hilbert at 5:50pm and varsity tips off at 7:15pm.

Let's cheer the Lancers on to victory as we gear up for the home stretch of the regular season!
