MLHS Focus on Ministry Trip

With the largest group of students we have ever taken on a trip to Martin Luther College, our students get the chance to see what our college of ministry is all about. Last weekend, 40 enthusiastic Lancer students made their way to New Ulm, Minnesota to MLC, embarking on an enriching journey that would deepen their understanding of ministry and the opportunities that await them in this field.

During their visit, the students were able to participate in a variety of activities designed to immerse them in the college experience. They attended engaging classes led by knowledgeable professors who are passionate about their subjects, allowing the students to witness firsthand the rigorous academic environment that MLC fosters. In addition to the academic exposure, the group had the opportunity to tour campus, exploring the various facilities that MLC offers, including the REC, dorm rooms, and student centers. This tour not only provided a glimpse into daily student life but also showcased the resources available to support their educational journey.

Moreover, the trip was a wonderful occasion for students to reconnect with old friends and make new acquaintances, fostering a sense of community and belonging among those who share similar aspirations in ministry.

When questioned about his favorite aspect of the trip, MLHS junior Charlie Berg mentioned that the best part was reconnecting with some of his old friends, especially MLHS Alumni Malachi Hulse. Charlie transferred to MLHS this year from St. Croix Lutheran Academy in West St. Paul after his father, John, accepted a position as pastor at St. John's in Two Rivers.

Throughout the visit, the students learned more about the various programs and pathways available within the field of ministry, gaining insights into how they can contribute to their communities and the church at large.

This experience was not just a visit; it was a pivotal moment that allowed our Lancer students to envision their future roles as leaders in ministry, equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a significant impact. The trip to Martin Luther College was a memorable and transformative experience, one that will surely resonate with them as they continue their educational and spiritual journeys.
