Tips for Supporting the Arts at Home—Tip 4

Get involved by volunteering!

One of the best ways to show your child that you support their interest and involvement in the arts is by getting directly involved. Sign up to volunteer at concerts or events so that they see you active in the program just like them. Attend Accents meetings to stay caught up on what is happening or share your opinion with the fine arts faculty and other parents. The program cannot exist without your support, and the students are encouraged by your involvement!

WSMA Lakeshore Concert Festival

Our school participates in the WSMA Lakeshore Concert Festival at Roncalli every other year. This event is very similar to WSMA Solo/Ensemble that took place in March but with larger groups. Our ensembles perform in front of three adjudicators and then have some time to work with one of them. This is a great opportunity for our groups to grow and learn! Concert Choir and Cantate Choir perform on April 29 at 8:45am and 10:15 respectively. Symphonic Band performs at 9:20am on April 30. These performances are open to the public. We will take busses to/from Roncalli and will perform in our usual concert attire. More specific details will be shared closer to the performance dates.
