Grandparents & VIP Day - Another Great Day!

On Monday, April 14, we had the distinct pleasure of welcoming over 275 grandparents and other very important persons (VIPs) into our halls for a special day dedicated to showing our appreciation for their unwavering support and love. This event was not only a celebration of their contributions but also an opportunity for them to engage with our vibrant community and see firsthand the environment in which their grandchildren thrive.

The arrival of our esteemed guests was scheduled for 12:30 PM, where they were warmly greeted by the students they were visiting. Each grandparent and VIP was met with smiles, hugs, and heartfelt welcomes, setting a tone of warmth and gratitude that permeated the entire event. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as families reunited and shared stories, creating a sense of belonging and connection within our school community.

At 1:00 PM, we gathered in our opened main gym for a chapel service. This gathering was a meaningful moment for reflection and worship, allowing our guests to experience the spiritual heart of our institution, the focus of Christ at the center of all we do. The chapel service was thoughtfully designed to inspire and uplift, reinforcing the love Christ has for each and every one of us.

Following the chapel service, at 1:30 PM, we hosted a dynamic student panel discussion. This session featured a diverse group of students who shared their experiences and the various ways they engage with our school’s Christian culture. The panelists spoke passionately about their involvement in extracurricular activities, service projects, and their personal growth within the framework of our community’s values. This interactive session included a lively question-and-answer period, where guests were encouraged to ask questions, leading to insightful conversations about faith, education, and personal development.

At 2:00 PM, our grandparents and VIPs embarked on guided tours around the building, providing them with an opportunity to explore the various facilities and resources that our school offers. These tours were designed to showcase the advancements in our educational environment, including classrooms, laboratories, and recreational areas. Moreover, guests were delighted to capture memories during a dedicated photo opportunity, allowing them to take home a tangible reminder of their visit.

As the clock struck 2:30 PM, everyone reconvened in the Auxiliary gym for an ice cream social, a delightful treat that added a sweet touch to the day’s festivities. This gathering included fun contests that encouraged participation and camaraderie among guests and students alike. Laughter filled the air as families engaged in friendly competitions, fostering a sense of community and joy. Additionally, our Executive Director of Mission Advancement Kevin Buch, shared insights and updates about our school, while Repeat Performance gave an update and a plea for volunteers.

As the day came to a close, we sincerely hope that all of our guests had a wonderful time visiting MLHS and left feeling appreciated and valued. This day was not just an event; it was a celebration of the bonds that tie us together as a community, and we look forward to creating more such memorable experiences in the future, God's blessings!
