Lancer Boys Nab a Conference Win, But Lose to N.E.W.

The Lancer boys varsity team split their two games last week. In the first contest on Tuesday night, the Lancers faced Green Bay NEW Lutheran, who is currently ranked 4th in D5. The Lancers were unable to keep up with the hot shooting by NEW as the Blazers made fourteen 3-pointers in the 79-56 defeat of the Lancers. Senior Ethan Menges led the Lancers with 21 points and 9 rebounds, while sophomore Noah Czarneski had 10 points and junior Luke Marohn rounded out the top 3 scorers with 8 points. Senior Sho Fukasawa had 4 assists and junior Aidan Franzen hauled in 7 rebounds.

On Friday night, the boys returned home and won a nail biter against conference opponent Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah by the score of 64-62. Menges led the way again with a season high 29 points and 8 rebounds followed again by Czarneski with 9 points and 5 rebounds. Seniors August Hecker and Fukasawa had 6 and 5 assists respectively.

In JV action, JV2 won at NEW, but lost to an undefeated Wrightstown Tigers team. JV1 won against both NEW and Elkhart Lake.

In action this week the Lancers (5-7) (2-5 Big East) travel to face Big East opponent Hilbert (0-11) (0-7 Big East) on Thursday night. JV1 starts the night off at 5:50pm with varsity to follow at approximately 7:15pm.

Good Luck Lancers!
