Lancer Boys Go 1-1 Against Kohler; Mishicot

The Lancer varsity boys basketball team went 1-1 last week with a narrow loss to the Blue Bombers of Kohler and a victory over the Mishicot Indians.


The week started off with a close loss on Tuesday night against Kohler by a score of 50-52. Leading the way was junior Aidan Franzen with a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds. Senior August Hecker had 12 points and 5 steals and fellow senior Casey Stanzel had 4 assists.

On Thursday night the boys traveled to Mishicot to face the Indians, and came out victorious with an 11 point 73-62 victory. Hecker had a triple-double and was 3 steals short of a quadruple-double. The Lancers found themselves down by 6 at halftime but were able to rally back for the win. Hecker finished the game with 14 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists and 7 steals. The Lancers had three other players score in double figures that night. Franzen had 23 points and 7 rebounds, senior Sho Fukasawa had 17 points and Stanzel had 10 points.


JV1 also lost to Kohler but beat Mishicot and are now 2-3 on the year. JV2 beat Kohler, but lost to Sheboygan Lutheran and are now 1-3 on their season.


The Lancers (2-3) (1-3 Big East North), have two matchups this week. On Tuesday the boys travel to cross town rival Roncalli High School. The Jets (4-0) will be seeking revenge from last year's regional championship loss to the Lancers. The non-conference game will be broadcast on WCUB radio (97.1 FM/98.0 AM). JV2 starts the night off at 4:30pm, JV1 at 5:45pm and varsity at approximately 7:15pm.


On Thursday night the Lancers host the Rockets from Cedar Grove-Belgium (3-2) (3-1 Big East South). Game times are scheduled for JV2 at 4:30pm, JV1 at 5:50pm, and Varsity at 7:15pm. As usual, Lancer Vision will provide a livestream of this home game.
