Hebrews 10:14 “For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.”

Not to brag, but I am rich. Currently sitting on my desk in my office are stacks of dollar bills worth millions of dollars each. In fact, I am actually a trillionaire. I am in possession of a 100 trillion-dollar bill. Now before you start questioning how much we pay our teachers or when the United States started printing such large currency, let me be honest with you and say that these are Zimbabwe Dollars and not United States Dollars.

Zimbabwe went through a time of rapid inflation. Each day the prices of goods and services would double. What was $10 on Monday would be $640 by Sunday. The currency was becoming worthless and could not pay for anything. Even my 100 Trillion Dollar bill was only worth 40 cents. It could not even pay the price for a loaf of bread.

As Christians we have a debt to pay. A debt that is much higher than the cost of a loaf of bread. The debt of our sin. A debt that we have been accumulating since we were conceived. And this debt is something we cannot hope to pay for on our own. Not only is it too expensive, but we continually add to this debt each and every day.

Thankfully, this debt has already been paid on our behalf. No matter the size or cost of this debt our Lord pays for it in full. Paid in full through the life and death of our perfect Savior, Jesus. And what is amazing is this blessing, and free gift, never loses its value. In fact, this gift only becomes more valuable as we realize what it truly means. That we are wiped clean in the blood of a loving Savior, and given the promise and assurance of eternal life through Him.

So, while I may be a trillionaire in Zimbabwe, that currency will continue to lose its value over time. But praise God that our faith in Christ and the full and free forgiveness that is given to us will always be priceless!
