Aerodynamics

On Friday, November 5th, we had a guest instructor Michael Munteen - Certified Flight Instructor, visit our Aerospace Engineering class to speak with the students about their upcoming Discovery Flight on Saturday. The class discussed the specifics of ground school and the expectations needed to have a productive and eventful first flight.

On Saturday we visited The Manitowoc Airport and each students had the opportunity to experience flying a Cessna 152 airplane. They each had 30 minutes of flight time controlling the plane.

The CFI Certified Flight instructor, commented that our students flew as if they had 4 or 5 lessons already completed. He commented on how professional they acted and their level of skill was well beyond his expectations.

One of the students in pursuing a career in commercial aviation and 2 others would like to get their pilots license in the future.

This is the first time we have had this opportunity and we look forward to introducing our students to more ways to have hands on learning that extend out of the classroom and into our community.
