Fundamentals of Art
FIN3001- All Grades - Semester 1 or Semester 2
Intro to Art is a one-semester course offered each semester. There is no prerequisite for this course. Through experiences in both the fine arts and craft areas, the student will be exposed to projects using a variety of media, materials, and techniques. Instruction in the elements and principles of design will allow each student to analyze and discuss his/her and other projects. Students will learn about many artists and styles of art in order to teach, encourage, and inspire them in their own artwork. This class is an excellent way to "tryout" the art course offerings.

Mixed Media*
FIN1006 - All Grades -Semester 2
Mixed Media is a one-semester course offered during the 2014-2015 school year. Through experiences in both the fine arts and crafts areas, the student will be exposed to projects using a variety of media, materials, and techniques. Instruction in the elements and principles of design will allow the student to analyze and discuss his/her and other projects. Students will be taught about many artists and styles of art in order to teach, encourage, and inspire their own artwork (mask making, origami, fibers, etc).
Prerequisite: Fundamentals of Art

Painting*
FIN1005 - 10th/11th/12th Grade - Semester 1
Painting is a one-semester course offered during the 2015-2016 school year. Intro to Art is the prerequisite for this course. Review of the elements and principles of design will allow the student to analyze and discuss his/her and other projects. Students will be taught about many artists and styles of art in order to teach, encourage, and inspire them in their own artwork. Students will experience and learn painting with watercolors, acrylic, tempera and more.

Drawing*
FIN1002 - 10th/11th/12th Grade - Semester 1
Drawing is a one-semester course offered during the 2014-2015 school year. Through experiences in drawing, the student will be exposed to projects using a variety of drawing media and techniques. Students will analyze and discuss his/her and other projects using the elements and principles of design. Various artists will be studied concentrating on drawing and illustration. Pencil, pen and ink, pastel, marker, and colored pencil will be explored.
Prerequisite: Fundamentals of Art

Sculpture*
FIN1004 - 10th/11th/12th Grade - Semester 2
Sculpture is a one-semester course offered during the 2013-2014 school year. Review of the elements and principles of design will allow the student to analyze and discuss his/her and other projects. Students will be taught about many artists and styles of art in order to teach, encourage, and inspire them in their own artwork. Students will discover many ways to create 3 dimensional artwork (clay, wood, paper).
